Summer is historically a time of vacation for public school staff, but ACAE members are finding time to make the most of our summer!
Summer Member Organizing (SMO)
From June-August, statewide NCAE members apply for the SMO canvassing program, a summer job that helps give members organizing skills and allows them to earn a living wage while doing it!
This year, three ACAE members are working in the SMO program, alongside over 100 NCAE members statewide doing the same. They will be knocking on the doors of ACS employees, discussing their experience as a public school employee, and giving them the opportunity to join their public school union!
Summer Leaders
In the middle of July, 100+ statewide NCAE members will be meeting together to work on a strategic plan for their local.
Summer Planning
On multiple days during the summer, ACAE leaders will meet to fully form out our local strategic plan, setting us up for success in our upcoming campaign.
New Hire Orientation/Convocation
In early August, ACAE leaders will be at beginning of the year events, namely the New Hire Orientation and Convocation. This event will allow new hires to be plugged into the district and their union.
